Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Releases New PV, Introduces New Opening Theme

The second season covers Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu through Shibuya Incident arcs.

Fans of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime, rejoice! The new promotional video and character graphics for the upcoming second season of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime television series were shown off during the MAPPA Stage 2023 event on Sunday, May 21, 2023. Tatsuya Kitani delivers the opening theme song Ao no Sumika (English translation: Blue House) in the promotional video.

The second season will have a continuous half-year run, airing for two courses (quarters). The manga by Gege Akutami will have two story arcs adapted into an anime: the “Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu” arc and the “Shibuya Incident” arc. On July 6th, MBS, TBS, and 28 other associated channels will air the series premiere.

Here’s a quick rundown of what happened in the Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu and the Shibuya Incident arcs manga. The Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu arc spans Chapter 65 to Chapter 79 of Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen manga. The story line involving Gojo’s history develops throughout the first season of the show. In this episode, fans will learn about Gojo’s past as a student at Jujutsu High. It has been theorized that Gojo and Geto will be sent to Tengen to accompany a Star Plasma Vessel. Beginning at Chapter 79, we shall enter “The Shibuya Incident Arc,” which will last until Chapter 136. It left behind the totality of the Shibuya Incident that occurred on October 31, 2018. In order to successfully seal Satoru Gojo, the coalition of cursed spirits and curse users led by Mahito and Pseudo-Geto has taken the required procedures.

Jujutsu Kaisen episodes 8 and 17 director Shouta Goshozono is taking over for Sunghoo Park. Takehito Koyasu as Toji Fushiguro and Anna Nagase as Riko Amanai are two of the new cast members. Soushi Sakiyama sings the closing theme song Akari (English translation: Lantern) of Jujutsu Kaisen second season.
