Check Out My December 2022 Super Sentai Collections
Happy holidays, guys! I want to share some of my most recent Super Sentai collections just before 2023 begins. Even though there are only a few of them, I’m thrilled to be added them to my expanding collection of Super Sentai mecha, both Deluxe and SMP versions. If you ever wanted to start your collections, such as Super Sentai, Kamen Rider, anime, other stuff. I guess this post might help you guide to the suitable sellers for your needs, either a new one or just preowned collections.
DX ShinkenOh of Samurai Sentai Shinkenger
To begin, there is the DX ShinkenOh. I purchased it from Angels Thrift Store on Facebook for a total of PHP1,290 (USD23; PHP1,200 for the DX ShinkenOh plus PHP90 for the shipping fee). Except for the helmet and Secret Disk/Shield holder, all necessary components (including the sword and disk) are included. Because of this, I purchased the helmet from a different seller, Bastoy bien, for PHP406 (about USD7) (PHP300 for the helmet and PHP106 for the shipping fee). In total, I spent around PHP1,696 (USD$31), which is surprisingly low considering that the item came with extras, had no broken clips, and was in pristine condition.
Since I already have a DX ShinkenOh, my first impression is that it is spectacular. It’s awesome how this fantastic mecha incorporates samurai, kanji, origami, disk, and shape elements. And I think it’s awesome how he came up with this transformation, which is a bit tricky but still enjoyable to perform both ways. DX ShinkenOh is definitely worth to collect and it’s now one of my favorite DX Super Sentai mecha.

DX Don Onitaijin of Avataro Sentai Donbrothers
Second is DX Don Onitaijin of Avataro Sentai Donbrothers. In spite of the DX Don Onitaijin’s immense popularity, I had no plans to purchase one just yet. I’m more interested in collecting older DX mecha from the 2000s before attempting to afford the latest ones, and I simply don’t have the funds for the latter right now. It wasn’t until I did a random search on Lazada Philippines that I found out a store that was selling a DX Don Onitaijin for only PHP3,338 ($60) with free shipping from Japan. Current market prices for DX Don Onitaijin I’ve seen from local vendors range from around PHP5,000 ($90) to well over PHP10,000 (USD180). If you’re interested in purchasing DX Don Onitaijin there too, just search want jp Toys Kyoto. They’re part of the Lazada Global Collection, have over 3,000 loyal customers, and are highly rated.
Besides its sheer size, the DX Don Onitaijin’s articulation is what really sells it for me. The giant robot’s design is unparalleled in the Super Sentai franchise, and it features a greater number of moving parts than the vast majority of DX Super Sentai mecha. However, I am slightly dissatisfied with the lack of articulations in its individual components. In terms of overall quality, I can’t help but draw comparisons to the DX Super Sentai of the 2000s. Still, compared to the DX Super Sentai mecha toys of late, this one is a huge improvement. I’m really hoping Bandai will make a Chogokin version of this that has even more articulation both in giant robot form and as individual components.
DX Don Onitiaijn is my first mint-in-box DX collection.

SMP DaiZyujin/Dino Megazord of Kyouryuu Sentai Zyuranger (Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers Season 1)
Lastly, and my favorite collection so far is the custom-painted SMP DaiZyujin, also known as Dino Megazord of the original Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers Season 1. I chose to have my SMP DaiZyujin custom painted because the show holds a special place in my heart as a nostalgic throwback from my childhood.
I contacted Mr. Ced Sy of AniZhie after seeing some of his custom paint works of Gaoranger’s DX Gao Bear on the Sentai Market PH Facebook Group and asked if he also did paint jobs on Minipla. I inquired about the fees, additional details and then proceeded with the project. I bought PHP3,800 or USD69 for the item from GC Toy Collections (PHP3,500 for the SMP and PHP300 for shipping), which was delivered first to AniZhie in November 2022 for the custom-paint job.
I really like how it looks now that it’s been custom-painted; the color and details are more prominent, and the chrome silver paint adds a premium feel to the SMP kit.
I have a total of eight SMP at the moment, and I’m planning to have my other SMP collection custom-painted as well because it adds more character and details to it and it adds premium-ness to SMP.
