Bandai Japan Launches Super Sentai DX Robo Universe
Great news for Super Sentai and Power Rangers fans! A fresh line of toys, named DX Robo Universe, is currently in development. This exciting lines will offer smaller, fully transforming renditions of Super Sentai Mecha, equipped with cross-compatible joints akin to the Zord-Builder system that Bandai America once utilized.
Initially introduced in DX Byun Byum Mach Robo, the mecha belonging to Boonboomger’s sixth member, Bun Violet, it has now been confirmed that Bandai has incorporated it into the latest Super Sentai toyline.
The first three figures to debut in the DX Robo Universe are Engine-Oh from Engine Sentai Go-Onger, ToQ-Oh from Ressha Sentai ToQGer and Gokai-Oh from Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger.
Honestly, both Gokai-Oh and Engine-Oh come off as quite odd, compromising significantly in both their individual forms and robot configurations. On the other hand, ToQ-Oh, which faced criticism for its original DX toyline, surprisingly shines in the DX Robo Universe version.
Each DX Robo Universe toy will be available for 5,280 Yen (36.33 USD or 2,042 PHP). Both Engine-Oh and ToQ-Oh, arriving in October 2024, while Gokai-Oh is expected to hit shelves in December 2024.
I must say, this is an exciting development for Bandai as they look to broaden their Super Sentai toyline. The DX Robo Universe features an impressive gimmick that allows for parts to be swapped between various mecha, opening up endless possibilities for combinations. While I’m uncertain about Bandai’s plans to integrate classic Super Sentai mecha into the upcoming DX Robo Universe line, I remain optimistic that they will find a way to make it work.
Additionally, I still hold out hope for a Full-Action Version of the Super Sentai mechas. Perhaps Bandai will surprise us!
